The Import Export Code (IEC) is a 10-digit code issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), mandatory for anyone importing or exporting goods or services from India. Since the code is now the same as your PAN, the DGFT charges a flat, one-time government fee for registration via Form ANF-2A.
